What Haven’t I Done?

It’s been busy in the craft department these 2 weeks…well, as compared to my previous weeks of… nothing or mostly nothing anyway. From crochet, to cross stitch, to jewelry making, and back to crochet I’ve been having some fun reacquainting myself to the joys of working with my hands.

Yarn Bombing

(Please note: the yarn bomb pictured is not mine, but it was too nice not to share. Awesome job Knits for Life!) It’s been a while since I’ve yarn bombed anything, my Ravelry group is very dead, as is the FB group I made for it. The idea of yarn bombing still makes me really happy and…

Caroline’s Birbs revisited

Ok, so a WHILE ago at this point I made a boat load of Caroline’s Birds.  They were part of a larger yarn bombing plan that also tied into the Art Assignment.  As you may have guessed from my absolutely stellar track record, I haven’t actually gotten around to doing anything with them and after…

Moar Yarn

Whoo, Sunday was a day full of adulting for me.  I’m not used to getting so much done, but it felt good.  I finally finished up the Kodama by sewing on his eyes while I was waiting on my laundry to dry at the laundromat.  Working on him made me want to do more Studio…

Scarfing it down

I’m actually pretty proud of my work this week, both as an active crocheter and a procrastinator.  I’m proud to announce I haven’t touched my damn jacket since last I posted about it.  I was getting too frustrated with trying to make it look nice and was pretty close to doing some actual harm to…

Christmas Gift Update

Surprising no one I didn’t actually finish either of the gifts I was working on this Holiday season.  The French Market Bag I’ve been working on for my sister I don’t feel that badly about because I’d explained that the handles I’d originally planned to use wouldn’t be suitable and I wanted something with a…

Monsters and Bad Ideas

A friend of mine is pregnant with her second kid and I, of course, promised to make something for the new arrival.  The first baby was a baby blanket.  My first blanket ever, actually.  When I asked what she would like this time around, my friend asked for a hat.  Turns out the theme is…

The Best Laid Plans of procrastinators rarely get done

But even knowing that I’m a procrastinator and against my better judgement  I think I’m actually going to try out a game plan for July to get back on the creative wagon. It’s going to be a little complicated because I’ll be doing some traveling and a family vacation this month, but maybe having a schedule…

SSDD

Ok, so this is going to look like a copy from another post I’ve made previously because of how much frogging I’ve had to do lately.  The two projects I’ve been carrying around are the Prepster Jacket and my Diana Shawl.  I just switch off working between them and have made some nice, measurable progress….

Let’s Talk about the Birds and the Bees

So I’ve taken a small break my chain chomp design to work on a project that’s been ongoing/stalled out for quite some time now.  You may not believe this, but I’m one of those crochet dare-devils you’ve heard of.  Yes, a yarn bomber! *cackles madly* As far as “walking on the wild side” goes it’s…

Shaping Shenanigans

Shaping sucks. Not so much the action of shaping during crochet that, provided you have good, clear instructions can be quite pleasant because you see what you’re making start to emerge and that’s cool.  No, it’s figuring out the shaping of a new project that’s a royal pain in the patootie.  It all started with…

Pi and Bunnies!

Wow, something actually concrete to add!  Today I come bearing patterns!  Well, one pattern.  In March I worked up a quick Pi Appliqué for Pi Day.  I made several and left them out for others to find.  Sadly I didn’t take pictures of where I left them, just the finished pile of Pis.  I had…
