I’m sure the procrastination lately comes as a total surprise! But seriously I have, as usual, no excuse because short of saying “I’m in the hospital because I was comatose.” there is no such thing as a good excuse. I really do have aspirations for myself and this blog and to this end I’ve decided to finally finish my f#^\ing logo tonight. I already know what I want it to look like, but I’m shit at drawing so I’m actually going to crochet it. This is a two birds thing actually because my mascot is also part of a pattern set I’m developing. I have no clue if anyone would pay for it, so I might just be posting it for free.
Eventually I’ll figure out the PDF thing and actually make the patterns downloadable or something (ooh, high tech!). I’d there’s an update tagged on to the end of this tonight with pics of Usagurumi then you know I stuck by my word!
EDIT: Ok, so the finished mascot definitely didn’t work out. I crashed pretty hard a little while ago and just woke up. I have plans tomorrow and have so much paperwork to finish up for my insurance at my new job, plus apartment hunting that I have no clue when I’m going to get some crochet done, but I’ll figure it out. Maybe I’ll shoot for being creative an hour a day or so and just post the results of each day’s endeavors.
I have an etsy store! It’s super new to the point where I feel like I shouldn’t even bother posting about it, but at the same time that’s part of why I have this blog in the first place. XD It’s super plain, I only have my name and two items posted at the moment. Admittedly I got off my butt about actually opening the shop because it was required for the craft fair I mentioned before so that’s good news and all, but I’m going to be busy posting new items, finishing up a few new designs, and working on potential product for the craft fair.
I’m really hoping that this momentum carries me forward. I can be really enthusiastic about new projects and stuff, but when it comes to follow through (especially when the work gets hard) I have a hard time keeping up the excitement.
I already know what I’m going to do for my logo and originally I was going to hire someone to draw it (and I still might) but I’ve decided to try playing around with a little bit of crafting and some photography. I got a nifty small photo tent to take pictures of my product and I’m going to see if I can make a logo from a photograph. I have to finish making my mascot, but once I get down to her it shouldn’t be hard, she’s partially done already. I’m still trying to decide on a name for her. I’m leaning towards Ami for pun reasons so if that doesn’t sit well someone stop me now. Ah well, back to the drawing board.
